Court of Honor Planning

How to Plan a Court of Honor:
1. Get with Scoutmaster to contact school administrator to schedule time for outside doors to Schindler Hall to be unlocked, usually 4:00-4:15pm day of. Also, confirm when inside door keys can be picked up (usually the Friday before).
2. Determine which patrol will complete setup.
3. Secure Emcees for COH.
4. Email the Setup Patrol to inform them of the time/date to set up for COH. Timing is usually 4:00-4:45pm day of.
5. Email the patrol coaches of the Setup Patrol to see who can pick up keys to the inside foyer doors on the Friday before COH.
6. Determine which patrol will do clean up after the ceremony.
7. Determine which patrols will bring food/drinks/tableware.
8. Create & Send Out Signup Genius detailing all tasks so every patrol is informed of their role. Ensure the Signup Genius has space for users to notate what they’re bringing. Note: Arrival time is ~6:45 for a start time of 7:00. It usually lasts until 8:30.
9. Send out follow up reminders as the date gets near.
10. Get with Advancement Chair to see what ranks/advancements/awards will be distributed.
11. Create a paper or online program detailing the achievements. If paper, make enough copies for all guests.
12. Secure Scouts to do Flags/act as Color Guard.
13. Print Scripts for the Emcees.
14. Ensure Setup is Completed properly.
15. Have a great Court of Honor.
16. Ensure Clean up is Completed properly.
